As I have stated before in past post's I have a 70 Mach 1 and I have heard people talk about in the past about cars having matching numbers. Could someone please explain that to me. Is that all vin numbers match? Where are all the numbers located on the car, as in transmission numbers and etc.

Concerning the matching number for the car

all major componement of the car, engine trans and rear axle need to match with the car,

correct engine with the serial number, trans ect.

to check just read all codes on the engine tag and casting numbers and dates.

Same for others componements.
