PostSubject: Hello from Klamath Falls, OR   Mon 9 Jun - 18:36

My son and I bought a completely stripped "barn find" 2 years ago and are getting close to having it restored - all an issue of paint and installing the interior now. The previous owner found the car while playing paintball near Salem, OR. He thought he was hiding next to a berry patch, but on closer examination it was a shed cover by blackberries. Inside the shed was a Grabber blue highly optioned M code that had been there since the mid-70's. It had thrown a valve and the rancher's son had left it there. The previous owner asked about the car and the rancher gave it to him in exchange for clearing the berries from the shed so he could use it for storage. Most of the car was in amazing condition, the tire Goodyear polyglass still had whiskers and held air. Just had to replace a few pieces that were missing or old looking - the only major pieces were the shaker and a cracked windshield.

Looking forward to getting this car on the road. I had a 69 B2 and a 69 GT Fastback back in my youth. The B2 went for college tution and the GT got sold to buy a grown-up car (BMW). Looking forward to my kid never having to make those same decisions. This car ain't going no place without one of us at the wheel.

Hey Mike, sounds like you found yourself a great Mach, I would love to see some pictures of it and would also like to see some pictures of the Polyglass Tire you talk about

Matt

Mach - pictures will be coming next week - only 1 year later.

Just put the seats in and drove her last night. All I can say is WOW. I feel like I am a kid again driving my old B2. The pony looks great, sounds equally good and is a lot of fun to drive. Very Happy Twisted Evil bounce Pictures to follow. cheers

Thanks Ray. If you look close you'll notice the correct black paint around the trunk lock (you can't see the black around the taillights, but its there as well as the side pitchwelds. If it wasn't for the site, I'd probably had not got that right. Between the forum, and Bob Perkins I received some info I don't think I would have ever been aware of. Thanks again in helping me "get it right" and providing a great place to get info & feedback thumright salut Cool .

Hi!

Yes I have seen the black out area around the trunk lock.

P.S for your Mach1 letters, check on the website to find correct dimensions for location.

Ray

Yah, I know. I do appreciate you pointing that out. But other than that my body & paint guy did an awesome job. I gave him the print out on the letters, but he must of missed it. I'll get it corrected within a few weeks. Hard to be upset with a guy that does great work and gives you good advice on hunting and fishing as well. Besides the first Body and Paint guy I started with cost me $2,250 over 9 months did almost nothing and we ended up redoing everything he touched. Like I said 3 years of work & DELAYS. pale

Great looking car
Better check if you have the correct trunc letters as well, while you're at it.
There are plastic and metal ones.

Awesome looking car!!!

I like the look of the 16" Magnum's . I thought long and hard on that update because of the tire choices but finally went with 15's.
