I'm greatful to be a part of this unique group of enthusiasts!! I've already taken "advantage" of the vast experience and knowledge that you all bring to the table. To have information at your fingertips that is specific to year and model is extraordinary. Thank you so much for creating this for the true 1970 Mustang Mach 1 owners !! It is PRICELESS!
Well...I'll give a "brief" story of my purchase and current status...if anyone wants detailed information on what has been done to my car in the last 4 months, please feel free. I have every invoice, part number, cost, etc. that I will be glad to share. Basically, the pony has gone from the grave to breathing fresh air again in 4 months. Next large expense will be to repaint her...saving for that one....as normal, the last 4 months have drained every ounce of savings I had. The unexpected costs are always the killer. When you read the first line of the "story" you will see that I'm apparently not the sharpest tool in the shed! Well, here you go:
---------
Purchased in Nov. 2008 from e-bay, sight unseen...MISTAKE!
Seller was dishonest to say the least. Amazing what you can do with touch up paint, camera angles and "foam filler." Without going in to all of that, this poor pony should have gone to the glue factory long ago. However, the true horse-lover that I am, I felt obligated to lead her to water and make her drink....and drink she did. Every time I looked at the poor ole gal, she needed something else. When a "vein" was unclogged, it made her heart stop. When one part was replace, another trouble spot was uncovered. In quick response, her heart was renewed, her hooves repaired and everything between her shiny new teeth to her curvaceous new rear was taken care of. Now she boasts the fight of 400+ horses, nays like a lion (and eats/drinks like one too) and runs faster than Secretariat. I think the loving care of a true horse-lover has done her justice. She remains comfortable and proud whether inside her stable or out showing off.
