When I went to shop to check on my Mach1 resto one of the guys asked me if I wanted to keep the trailer hitch! I know it didnt have some foolish hitch on it but low and behold he handed me a "bracket" of some sort that had been bolted up behind the rear valance. It looked to be made of 1/2 square steel and appears to have been on the car for a long, long time. Could this have been some kind of export/transport hold down that was installed back in the day? It loosly resembles a "T" shape and could function as a tie down...the way it was mounted and the apparent age seems like it could have been from when it was new. It was totally hidden from view and just seems like an odd piece. Someone prior to me could have installed it for some reason or another but my curiosity level is up. I guess my question is two-fold..1:did export cars have tie-down brackets installed at the port? 2:How do I tell if my car could have been a export DSO code? I just sent out for a deluxe Marti report this afternoon. My VIN is 0T05H138934. Thanks for any input.
