Any advice on removing Rocker Trim Empty
PostSubject: Any advice on removing Rocker Trim   Any advice on removing Rocker Trim EmptyWed 21 Jan - 16:59

I was always hoping to find a set of rocker trim to replace the set on my 70 Mach that isn't finished proper but the prices aren't coming down. So I think its time to bite the bullet and re-finish the set that is on my Mach. Is there any tricks anyone can offer in removing the trim? Would be great to re-do it on the car but thats basically impossible.
Thanks
Matt K.

Matt
* Front fender piece has some speed nuts on the back as well as 1 screw at the front.
* piece under the door has screws on very the bottom, and it is hooked on a metal strip with the top. To remove unscrew , and slide the panel upward.
* Door piece, don't really know houw it's attached. Maybe with T-bolts through the door. Remove the doorpanels to see.
* Quarterpanel piece, don't really know. T-bols as well ???

I don't really know about the door & quarterpanel piece.
Could be clipped on as well.
Somebody else might know the aswer to that.

When I bought my Mach1 the Rocker Panels weren't on the car, and I was lucky to find them at a local Mustang Shop.
There wasn't any mounting hardware for the door and quarter pieces.

Good information, Thanks.

Has anyone ever found the proper paint in a paint can or is it only available in a Spray Can. Just wonder what the results would be using a spary can compared to a professional spray gun.

Mustangs Unlimited has it on the website:

Most likely other suppliers have it as well

I didn't use it.
I had mine painted black to match the Twister striping

Good Day. While working on a budget iI refinished my own rocker panels with spray bomb from NPD . It is a match and goes on nice. I removed the old paint with a aircraft aluminum paint stripper. Use only lite coats. After it sets for a few days I clear coated it with a good quality clear bomb. Do a test area first as some of the clears will lift the argent paint. I have pressure washed the rockers several times now and the paint seems to stand up. I hope this helps.

Looks like most Mustang Parts Suppliers Carry the spray Cans

Any advice on removing Rocker Trim KR47

Looks like it even has a picture of the 70 Mach Rockers on the can.

Seem to be failing to find it in a can that you could pour into a spray gun.
