I just recently purchased a Mach 1 1970 with a 351 2V Windsor. I'm trying to get familiar with the correct specs on the car. I haven't turned it on because it is in need of a battery. What kind of battery do I need? Is there a specific type of number on the oil I should be using? The coolant looks a bit low, what is recommended?

These are all pretty basic details that I wouldn't want to use the wrong stuff. I really wasn't able to get the background on the car and these small kind of details are important and will assume all the parts/products are available at my local shop. Thanks for the information and looking forward to getting it started.

Hey

Welcome to the site.

U are going to get alot of different answers for this question

Personally...

Do you have a Ford Dealership close by?? I use Ford Green Antifreeze in mine, Ford 15W40 and a Ford Filter. Wont hurt to drain and re-fill all the fluids if its sat for a long time. My Mach also has a ford Battery (I could get the part # if you want) There are original style batteries available also if you want to go that route but you would have to go through a Mustang Parts Supplier.

Don't think you can go wrong with Ford Parts Smile
