PostSubject: working on the underbody   Sat 1 Aug - 8:09

So thought I would share a couple of pics. I am pottering along just cleaning her up rather than a complete rebuild fornow. Very happy as I do this, the lack of rust is astounding really and the underbody is all original. Bit of underbody soundproofing to clean off the then a little K&H rust converter where needed then just using some chassis spray for now. The underbody has a great coat of original red-brown Metuchen primer- couldn't find the camera in time for that.
Here is a couple of before any current pics.

oh I forgot that. I posted the pic in reply to a question a while ago about where the speedo cable routed from memory.
I meant to get a couple of pics of the underbody before i painted so will do so on the passenger side. (The wife had the camera somewhere)
I was too impatient so painted it!
I was expecting to find some ugly stuff, interestingly the red/brown had a few bubbles in it uner the sound proofing spray so I was expecting rust to have caused it but it was simply the red/brown bubbled when painted (humidity perhaps?). they had just sprayed the proofing over the top so it was very solid.
