Flaming river steering box Empty
PostSubject: Flaming river steering box   Flaming river steering box EmptyTue 16 Jun - 8:42

Good Day. Recently installed a rebuilt steering box. Once got the mustang on the road found to be lots of play, plus it feels like it binds at certain turns in the wheel. Not a whole lot better than the box I had removed. Had made all the adjustments but still can't get a good feel when driving.
Has anyone tried the flaming river box and how to they compare to the original?

Is there anyway to remove the steering box from under the car , it looks tight . I had removed the other box while the engine was apart. Thanks for any info.

Dearborn, I bought the (manual) Flaming River steering box 4-5yrs ago. It was like driving a new car compared to the original box. It was pretty easy to change them out best i can remember (done mine with engine in car). Mine has the 4v 351 cleveland, hooker headders, 4spd and has been converted to manual steering. One of the best things i have done and Flaming River is the only way to go IMHO. hope this helps
