My movement mechanism was pretty shot and a couple of the cogs were missing teeth. I saw a post on the VMF site that said others cars like Galaxie had identical movement and I confirmed this on a site that sold spares for the clocks. I purchased a NOS 1970 Galaxie clock on ebay and shipped it here-. Australia
After much fiddling around with the small parts, I managed to interchange the movements and also a couple of the plastic cogs (which don't come with the replacement movements you can purchase) and now I have a great working original clock.
The Galaxie clocks sell much cheaper than the mustang ones you see and as mentinoed , you can use a number of the parts so a great idea if you want to restore your clock rather than replace with a quartz mechanism.
Also have a NOS Galaxie clock housing spare
