PostSubject: Paint Inspector Name at Metuchen   Fri 29 Apr - 20:42

There were several paint inspector names used in 1970 at the Metuchen, New Jersey, assembly plant.

The following are names I've observed over the years:

ADAM
BALON
MARTZ
Q.C. SPARE#
VENTRIGLIA

I'm sure there are more, and some may be numbers rather than names.

You should be able to get a duplicate stamp made with your choice of name at any office supply store that makes rubber stamps.

Yellow paint is the most common color. I use Telstar yellow model paint because of the color match and it won't harm the paint if you make a mistake applying the stamp.

The most common locations for the Paint OK stamp are the fender edge, underside of the hood, deck lid, and cowl panel.

I wouldn't use more than three stamps on the car. You can have too much of a good thing.
