Paint Colors Empty
PostSubject: Paint Colors   Paint Colors EmptyTue 20 Aug - 14:42

I have a Mach 1 that I just recieved a Marti Report on. Everything matches up but the color. The report says it's supposed to be Lime Mettalic but it is Bright Red. I have removed all of the interior, including door panels. Removed the engine and removed the trunk lid. All of the typical places where you would expect to find the original color. Lime Mettalic isn't anywhere on this car. Any ideas?

Yes. The VIN on the aprons match the VIN on the dash and the title I have. A gentleman bought the car in Oct. of 1969, drove it home and put it in storage. When his son turned sixteen he pulled it out of storage. In 1985 when he registered the car it had 66 miles on it and the title says it was Red at that time. Just a strange thing but it makes it interesting. The door sticker is missing.

build sheet perhaps would shed a little more light? where was it built as there are some suggested locations depending on where it was built.

great so was mine. Apparently a few common places were wrapped around the wiring harness under the dash, under or in one of the seats.... but for the Metuchen cars I read th efavourite place was in the rear foot space behind the passenger side door under the rear carpet.
So i looked there when changing my carpet and found...build sheet

sadly , i was an amateur when I uncovered it and used the wrong solvent to try and remove it and wrecked the damn thing. If you go looking, make sure you have a good degreasing solvent as the tar in the underfelt will have melted to the floor. If you find it and get it off- you should be able to soak it in the solvent if needed.
