For those running 15 x 7 Magnum 500's on the front and 15 x 8 magnum 500's on teh rear, what are the maximum tire sizes you have found that work?

I've searched the Boss 302 foryum and it appears some say that the 275 60R15's rub a bit, some say they don't. Others have said that 255 60R15 is a good "large" rear tire size with no rubbing headaches.

What is your guys input and if possible, include rear view pix.

regards,
Steve

Hi Steve,

I'm running P255/60/R15's on the back and they seem to work really well.

I have P215/65/R15's on the front. Originally tried P235/60's, but they rub.

Hope this helps!

PostSubject: maximum tyre size   Tue 14 Apr - 8:21

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to ask on this topic what is the widest 15 inch 60 profile tyre size recommended for the front? I have 235/60/15 similar to what Kirk had and I get rubbing on LHS primarily on bumps. Is this a tyre too wide or soft suspension. Is rolling the inside of the guard an option or is that a no-no?
Cheers

Sean

I have 275/60 15s on 10" rims on the rear.
The RHS rubbed the inner guard but that was fixed with a hammer. It was a small indent only on that side that was rubbing.
Otherwise they are a tight fit and look great. The fronts are 235/65 15s (I think) on 7" rims.
The drivers side rubbed the chassis so I modified the steering stop.
They are OK now and look good too.

they do look hot. I also solved my front problem with a dolly and hammer and a little rolling. They seem fine now. Also running 235/60 15 from memory but the wheel seems to have a non standard offset.
All good now.

I had the offset on the 10s moved because they don't make 10 X 15 Magnums to fit Mustangs with the correct offset.
Most have the tyres sticking out too far and it looks like sh*t.
My fronts ar 60 profile....I just checked.
