Long time lurker first time poster

I am in the process of looking for a 70 Mach and have found a few worth going to look at for me. Since I am new 70 Mustangs I was hoping for someone knowledgeable in the field to help a newbie out and avoid the pitfalls of buying something it is not. I know some about 65 mustangs as I own a 65 coupe and my dad owns a 66 shelby but 70's are new to me and I dont know the inside secrets to checking one out to make sure I am getting what I am paying for? Things like engine stamping and locations, common things to look for? Anyone that has a registered car on the site from Upstate NY that would want to help or for that matter anyplace if they are willing to correspond via email?

In the interest of helping a young guy not make mistakes that have already been learned by someone I am looking for someone with an unbiased opinion to bounce things off of. If you dont have the time I completely understand but any direction you can give me or references would be great. Thanks for your time.
