1970 M Code 4 Speed Shaker Mach 1 F/S

I just purchased this car from a friend and had NO intentions of selling….EVER, but I have the chance to pick up a historically significant 2003 Cobra and must sell My ‘70.

1970 Mustang Mach 1
Factory Options are as follows:
351 4V, Close Ratio 4 speed Toploader, Shaker, Factory Tach, Factory louvres, A/C(Selectaire), Traction-Lock 9″ rear end, Fold Down Rear Seat, Power Front Disc Brakes, Power Steering, Black Hood Stripe, AM Radio….All backed by a Marti Report.

This Mach is very complete and has not had any of the rare factory options robbed from it. It is missing a couple of small details…the console, and the shaker is missing the flapper (door only-Vacuum mtr is there), and the snorkel and heat shields (Car now has long tube headers) These are easy items to round up. The car has sat for quite some time….It does run and drive pretty good, plenty of power, but could use a tune up. Originally a Dark Ivy Green car (Very close to a Bullitt) It is now painted Calypso Corral (Very tired, flaking paint job) Light rust in very bottom of rh lower quarter, and rh floor pan…all else looks good. Interior is all there but tired. and all gauges, Tach and lights work, it has the nicest Fog light switch I have EVER seen. Correct 1970 Ford Hurst shfter…even more correct ‘70 Ford Hurst shift handle, non correct Hurst shift boot. All ac stuff under dash is present, only compressor and bracket under hood.

Just a quick update,
I was sooo excited when I bought this car....I had not had a vintage Mustang in 7 years and was really looking forward to investing some good fun time and money into making it a awesome cruiser. I had NO intention of ever selling it as I had regretted selling my 1969 Big Block GT Sportsroof. Then the second love of my life came knocking. A 2003 Cobra, at first it was very easy to pass on this car, as I thought it was just another '03 Cobra.....then I found out that it was Part of the Champcar World Series, as a huge fan, I knew I had no choice but to sell the Mach and snag it!
So take a look at what I gave up my '70 Mach for...hopefully you will agree, as a Champcar fan, it was quite a find.
In 2003 Ford became the title sponser and sole engine supplier to the Champ Car World Series (the original Indycar series before the IRL joke) When Ford did this, they provided 5 SVT Flagship vehicles to act as Fastlap Pace Cars. These cars would take VIP's and such for hot laps around the track in between on track activities, and act as the actual pace car for the race at all of the races that took place.
These 5 SVT vehicles were jokingly dubbed "The Fabulous Five"

So when the Champcar World Series and the IRL merged, the IRL stayed the same and Champcar, in reality, just dissolved....very sad, it was a far better series and the racing has been lackluster since. All of Champcars assets were put up for auction. Timing, video, audio, cars, scooters, office equipment, semi's Featherlight trailers, a handfull of previous Pace Cars...all of it. Mysteriously missing from the auction list was the 5 SVT Pace cars. Their whereabouts were unknown until June when word on the street was that Miller Motorsports Park was selling some un-needed vehicles. Thanks to some slueth work by two of my good friends Aaron, and Sam, The Fabulous 5 were located. The Silver Coupe was purchased by two employees to use as a track car.

The Sonic Blue convert was sold to a vendor of MMP for trade work. The status of the Lightning is unknown. We all know where the Redfire coupe has ended up! And last but not least....The 2003 Supercharged Sonic Blue Focus....It remains at MMP....NOT for sale for the time being.
