PostSubject: 1970 Mach I color code 9   Mon 2 Aug - 13:52

I just purchased a 1970 Mach I and was planning on changing the interior to black and the exterior to grabber orange. Then I got the Marti report and it revealed my car has an exterior color code of 9 (yellow paint 3120-A) which means it is a Thunderbird color....is this rare? Also it has the interior code 3F medium ginger. The combo may look good but I'm not sure I want it over the grabber orange. What do you suggest I do? Thanks John

Seems to be pretty rare, i saw reference to is being a carry over from Shelby colours from 69 and also not many in the Boss Registry stats would seem to suggest pretty few this color but may not be a T'bird specific color.

Request a Marti report before you make up your mind.

sorry, just saw you have a report but maybe the deluxe report is the one that tells you how many of that combination were produced.

I looked again on my Marti report and it says 1 0f 30 in this color combo...and I looked up the color and it says only used on Thunderbird and was not a mustang color....so it must have been a special order for a person. I am trying to picture in my mind a code 9 color and ginger interior as to whether I want to keep it or paint another color.

Yes, 1 0f 30 with that paint/trim combo (3F med ginger clarion knit/corinthian vinyl) and 1 of 139 with that color paint (code 9).

Even one of 139 with color code seems rare. Mine original was one of 4270 so there may still be the odd blue Mach 1 around Very Happy
