Do I have a 1970 Engine & Transmission Empty
PostSubject: Do I have a 1970 Engine & Transmission   Do I have a 1970 Engine & Transmission EmptyTue 1 Sep - 22:43

I think I have a 1970 engine and transmission.
It is in parts and I have some of the codes.
I did not get the VIN on the block but will do that tomorrow.
Are there any sites you would recommend for me to research?
Or is there anyone who might be educated in this in your club?
This what I have, Head 9H16 T (I think these may be 4V closed Chamber?)
Intake is stamped Ford and HO MC2 RF_FOZE 9425_A4A
Trans is stamped RF F3LP 7A040AA 44 W Basic-4
Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.

Some of the other guys on the forum will be better than me at this but let me take a shot. Also refer to http://www.classicmustang.com/decoding_part_numbers.htm

Seems to me that the intake is from a 1990 mustang F- 1990 decade O= 1990 year Z= mustang

Transmission looks like F= 1990's 3- 1993 , L= not sure Embarassed

The heads were made on 16th August 9th year of some decade.

Seems like an odd lot if the numbers are correct.
