| Hi, Is the Sports Light switch , just above the radio, standard on the Mach 1 and can anyone tell me how the switch operates? My switch seems to only have an off and on position but has three wires attached (well previously attached). When the switch is on i assume the two lights should be on but what about when the switch is off? I cannot see what the third wire is for as it appears not to go to the lights. Any ideas welcome | |

| As far as I can see on the wiring-plan, the 3rd wire runs to the front directional lights. Sadly I can't post a picture, as I only got it as a Tiff-file. I can mail it you though if you send me your emailadress | |

| thanks for the quick reply. I think I have the same diagram. The switch seems to be set to only have one on/off position and so I think the diagram may be slightly misleading. I have wired it so when the switch is off and the main light switch is on the first position then only the park lights are on. Then if I switch the Sports Light switch to on then the park lights and the Sports lights both are illuminated. I think this is correct but if you could let me know how yours operate it would be good.
Cheers

| All 70 MACH's have the sport lite switch. It is an on / off only switch. It will only turn the sport lamps on when it recieves a signal that the lites have been activated in any position from the headlite switch = why the third wire. Without that signal and type of set-up someone could leave them on and kill the battery by accident. So your working operation is correct as all Mach's should work the same way. | just above the radio - not the best pic but one already posted so it was easy If you look at parts wanted threads there are some links to older ebay auctions so you can see what the actual switch looks like. Cheers sean | |

| Here is better picture. Yes the switch could be missing, it fits up behind the dash pad and just the chrome know is visible. They are sold on ebay occassionally but usually expensive more that $100 easily. Check out the threads in parts wanted as there are a couple about sports lamps. sean | |

| but... since they are standard on the Mach 1... could it be due to a replaced interioir or can more things be gone in years. I see you don't have a center console ? | |

| you got it! I have a console in my garage so the interior is still a work in progress! I suspect you will still have a hole for the switch, but maybe your sports lamps do not work today without a switch? | |
