OK - everybody knows that the 351C 4-V (big valves-big ports) high compression (11:1) really blows any other stock 351 V-8 out of the ring at high rps at wide open throttle........ but what about initially off the line and day to day driving? The stock M-code 351C wasn't supposed to live down in the 1500-3000 rpm world. So, what's one to do with these heads when rebuilding such a beast from ground up. HAS ANYONE OUT THERE TRIED EDELBROCK'S 61629 HEADS? These were designed specifically to bridge the gap between the 2-V & 4-V 351C to get the best of both worlds….. so they say. Would sure like to hear some feed back from someone who’s tried these heads before I drop the big $$$ on a set.

I stroked the engine with a 408 stroker-crank, using the stock heads.
OK I'm pushing it with the compression, but with some octane booster I've been driving it for 5 years now without a problem.
The gain in power down the lower rpm range is huge, and with the high compression it's running 15 miles/gallon US
